Aaron McAdams is a film and television editor with over 20 years of experience.

His work has appeared on an array of networks and streaming platforms, and he has been the lead editor on multiple award-winning films and TV series.

After graduating from the University of Iowa’s Film Studies program, Aaron moved to Los Angeles, where he edited the successful independent documentary short films Carissa (IDA DocuWeek 2008) and Woman Rebel (Short List: 2010 Academy Awards). He then became lead editor at Edge West Productions, where he cut several documentary specials for National Geographic Channel and Discovery Channel.

Since then, Aaron has been consistently in demand as a freelance editor, working for multiple production companies in Los Angeles and New York. His credits include the documentary series We’re Here (Emmy and Peabody Award-winner), Secrets of Playboy (Critics Choice Award-winner), Free Meek (NAACP Image Award nominee) and the reality series Alaska: The Last Frontier (multiple Emmy Award nominee). Aaron also edited the feature documentary This Is Paris (2020 Tribeca Film Festival: Official Selection) and, most recently, The Grammys: LA Wildfires Film, a documentary short presented during the 67th Grammy Awards broadcast seen by over 15 million viewers.

In addition to his editing work, Aaron wrote and directed the documentary special Party Like the Queen of France for National Geographic Channel and directed multiple segments for Discovery Channel’s “Curiosity: Volcano Time Bomb”. He also co-directed the feature documentary The Harvest Run (2016 Austin Film Festival: Official Selection).

Originally from Iowa, Aaron now lives in Marina del Rey, CA with his wife, Michelle, and their loyal dog, Charlie. When not working or spending time with friends and family, he can be found indulging his lifelong love of music at the piano or supporting Los Angeles Football Club as a season ticket holder.
